Vaginal birth

Can and have been in a bed, in the delivery room, with or without stirrups, epidural or not analgesia... Whatever it is safe for everyone. Open your mind and your heart BUT be very careful when considering just following trends, flowing with present reality is much better.

C-section

Not a tragedy, if and when needed. It is MUCH better a good cesarean than a bad vaginal birth. You will be just fine. Promise

What makes sense to me

You have a wish list, the birth of your dreams. Every reality is different and yours is not the exception of the rule. Trust your health provider, ask a lot. Get answers. Donīt just follow opinions or trends. I use epidural not for pain relief but for helping you to deliver. Seldom seen an intended vaginal birth to become a C-section (with me, not impossible but not probable). Anyway, if you prefer pain, it is just fine by me. And if I recomend you a C-section, ask anyone, that usually means you really need one. Remember, you will not have a chance for rewinding the tape this time. Same way, if I do an episiotomy at 2 AM, usually means you need it (who wants to put stitches at that hour instead of being home at bed?). Common sense.... use your common sense. If you do not gain extra weight (meaning you did not eat by two, which is a MISTAKE), are healthy, and take care of yourself, you will have your prize. Otherwise, please, donīt ask for miracles (not me, ask God, he will hear and decide). If I got you at Costco with a roasted chicken or Ice Cream, and you are under my care, you will meet The Monster. Best wishes from Pedro. (insert smile here).
